CITYCRAFT MARKET

CITYCRAFT MARKET, originally uploaded by hairycarrot.

The Etsy Pittsburgh Street Team held the first CITYCRAFT MARKET on April 26th. It was hosted by the wonderful Jesse of the Creative Treehouse in Belleview, PA. It was a really nice time. There was wonderful music by Hand Drawn Mountains. They played two sets for us.
We offered demos of Upcycled Beads, with Tamara, a Wire Wrap Demonstration, a Polymer Clay Demonstration, Upcycled Shrinky Dinks, and the incredibly popular Needle felting taught by Meg.
Our future plans include shows based on product theme and shows in various locations. There is a lot of Steel-town waiting to experience the handmade revolution that is etsy. Buy Local - Buy Handmade.

Find Us w/ Team Tags

So far our team has been tagging items with "Pittsburgh", but in light of new Etsy Teams decisions, we will update as follows:
use 'pittsburgh team' - that is pittsburgh{space}team from now on, so old searches for just 'pittsburgh' will still work. its up to you if you want to change your old tags or not.

Congrats 19 Moons

Check out Pittsburgh Street Team member 19 Moons in a Storque Article!
If you aren't familiar with her work, Niffer creates incredible jewelry from upcycled telephone and typwriter keys. In their natural environment, these stamped pieces of metal and plastic seem mundane. 19 Moons revitalizes them into incredibly appealing accents, giving everyone an opportunity for historical reference.

phipps march 08-97

This chandelier is really fitting in the desert room. The height is perfect and the shape and color complement the plants.

This show was a popular group activity for the street team, and luckily the Conservatory has purchased this piece. Be sure to check it out, among others.
