Crafting for a Cause

LinkOnce a month, the Etsy Pittsburgh Street Team hosts a craft night. In the beginning, the team just held open crafting nights at The Creative Treehouse that were open to the public to provide a space to create and come together as one big, burghy, crafty community. As craft night evolved, each month brought a chance to learn new activities. Some of the workshops featured included sewing appliques taught by Spooky Kelly, wet felting by Meg of sockorock, and the team even learned how to make shrinky dinks from #6 recyclable containers and beads from plastic pop bottles.

This month, with a surplus of Christmas craft supplies donated by a team member, the team met at the home of member Charmed by Nature and created numerous wreaths, swags, and garlands to donate to a local charity.

The team is currently considering a couple of local charities for the donations, but welcome any suggestions.
